Instrumentation and control

- Instrumentation is defined as the art and science that measures the variables in processes within a production or manufacturing area;
- Based on the data collected by the instrumentation in the field, the control makes the decisions that maintain the process in operation;
- The professional, who develops the control and logistics, necessary for a specific process, is the automation engineer;
- The professional who develops projects and specifies the instruments that will be needed for the measurements, is the instrumentation engineer;
- Instrumentation is used in industrial areas, where technicians and engineers deal with operation processes that must be controlled;
- To control an industrial process (independent of the product to be manufactured or its sphere of action) it is necessary to measure and control several physical and chemical variables, for which instrumentation and control are mandatory.
