Zeppelin supplies complete bulk handling system for sulfur pastilles

With ZEPPELIN’s support, the unit U-672 for pastilles and sulfur handling at the Petrobras – São José dos Campos Refinery is successfully operating since 2009.

The unit is supplied with liquid sulfur from a tank, which is pumped to feed the pastillator.

When the solidifying process is completed, a bucket elevator transfers the sulfur pastilles to a storage silo. The pastilles stored in silos can easily be loaded on trucks for distribution.

ZEPPELIN SYSTEMS LATIN AMERICA, was responsible for the supply of the storage silo and the bucket elevator as well as for the truck loading system.

The painted carbon steel silo, equipped with two discharge cones has a diameter of 13,4 m, and a volume of 2.500 m3. The electrical design and equipment is for classified area ATEX zone 2, GR. IIA, IIB, T3.

Bucket elevator type Z, granting smooth handling of the product without damaging the pastilles. This bucket elevator was specially developed for this application and is 33 m high.
